The role of the surgical technologist is therefore incredibly important because they ensure tht the lead surgeon and Head Nurse are properly equipped, and the patient is ready for the anesthesiologists.

The Surgical Technologists helps to ensure a a sterile and organized environment while having the responsibility of segregating Covid-19 patients from non-Covid patients, etc.

Specializations Areas for the Surgical Technologists

Consistent with their general training, many surgical technologists work in general surgery or mend their skills across a variety of areas. Some Surgical Technologists choose to work specifically in a specific surgical specialty area (Cardiology; Plastic surgery; Pediatric surgery; Organ transplantation; Neurosurgery; Asepsis; Sterile Processing)
